I want to believe that was the result of hundreds of flickr photographs printed out and put in the blender to form a paste of the dominating colours of landscapes over the year. Spoiler alert: It was done on software by Fernanda Viegas and Marting Wattenbrg of IBM's Visual Communication Lab. New year's day is at six o'clock. more info
