Hailed as the 'father of electronic music', French-American composer Edgard Varèse (1883 – 1965) wrote under three hours of music in his entire career, and influenced the work of countless musicians and composers, including Pierre Boulez, John Cage, Olivier Messiaen, Joan Miró, Le Corbusier, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Iannis Xenakis, Frank Zappa, Charlie Parker and Radiohead.

The London Sinfonietta and the virtuosic National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, deploy every instrument in the orchestral artillery, alongside tape, sirens and theremin, creating a unique series of events.
